Air India Express Pilot Filed Assault Case
A passenger named Ankit Dewan said that an Air India Express pilot named Virendra Sejwal hit him at the airport.
Dewan was with his family, including a baby, and they were trying to use a special security line for staff.
The pilot told Dewan he couldn't read the signs and then hit him.
Dewan said his daughter saw the whole thing and was very scared.
The police are investigating because Dewan sent them an email about what happened and posted a video online.
The pilot's lawyer said the fight was settled and no one wanted to take legal action, but the police still filed a report.
Dewan also said he had a broken nose from the incident and is hoping for justice.
Air India Express has issued a show cause notice to the pilot and has suspended him pending an investigation.
An FIR has been filed against Air India Express pilot Virendra Sejwal for allegedly assaulting passenger Ankit Dewan at Delhi Airport's Terminal 1.
Dewan claimed the incident occurred after a verbal altercation over using a staff security check, which escalated into physical violence.
Dewan's family, including his wife and two children, witnessed the incident, which Dewan said traumatized his 7-year-old daughter.
Delhi Police initially stated there was no formal complaint but took action after Dewan's post on X and subsequent email.
The pilot's lawyer claimed the scuffle was settled with CISF officials and both parties agreed not to take legal action.
