India and Mauritius Deepen Energy Partnership Through New Agreements

India and Mauritius want to work more closely on energy.

India’s Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri met Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam.

They discussed how India could help Mauritius get reliable energy supplies.

The two sides exchanged an agreement about oil and gas cooperation.

Indian Oil Corporation Limited also made an agreement with Mauritius’s State Trading Corporation.

These agreements cover fuel for cars, ships and airplanes.

The countries say the plans can reduce the effects of changing fuel prices.

They are part of a broader relationship that also includes projects such as e-buses, a satellite and an e-judiciary.
