Rare Black and White Deer Sighted in Kurseong Hills
In the Kurseong hills, two very rare deer were seen.
One was completely black, and the other was white.
These are the first times such deer have been seen in this area.
The black deer has a special condition called melanism, which makes it very dark.
The white deer is also very unusual.
The forests here are already known for their diverse animals and birds, and these new sightings show how special this place is.
The forest officials are excited and want to protect these rare animals.
A rare black deer was spotted and photographed near Dowhill in Kurseong.
A white deer was sighted near Mirik, with a bystander capturing a photograph.
Both sightings are the first of their kind in the Kurseong forest division.
The black deer is believed to be a common barking deer with melanism, a rare genetic condition.
The region is known for its rich biodiversity, including melanistic leopards and various avian species.
