Meta Could Revive Smartwatch with Camera Focus
Meta is planning to bring back its smartwatch project.
Unlike most smartwatches that focus on health, Meta's watch will use cameras to scan the world around you.
This watch will work with Meta's smart glasses and VR headsets.
The original idea included two cameras for things like video calls.
The goal is to improve your experience in the metaverse.
The company may reveal this new watch at its developer conference in September.
Meta is reportedly reviving its smartwatch project after discontinuing it in 2022.
The revived smartwatch is designed to integrate with Meta's smart glasses and Quest headsets.
The primary function of the smartwatch will be to scan the environment using built-in cameras.
Meta initially planned smartwatches with two cameras: a main sensor and a front-facing camera for video calls.
Meta Connect, the annual developer conference, may showcase the revived project on September 17th.
