Vartha Bharathi Journalist Shamshuddin Enmoor Wins 2026 P Go Award
A man named Shamshuddin Enmoor writes news stories for a paper called Vartha Bharathi.
He wrote a story about tribes and other people who live far away in a forest called Kudremukh National Park.
The forest is a special place, and the people who live there have hard lives.
He wanted to find out if the government's plans were actually helping them.
His story was so good that he won a special award.
The award is called the P Go Award.
It is named in memory of a journalist called Padyana Gopalakrishna.
The award is given by a group of working journalists in Dakshina Kannada.
It is meant to cheer on young journalists who tell stories about villages and simple people.
Many people think this award is great because it brings attention to people who are often forgotten.
Vartha Bharathi sub-editor Shamshuddin Enmoor has been selected for the 2026 P Go (Padyana Gopalakrishna) Award.
The award recognises his special report on problems faced by tribal and other disadvantaged communities in the Kudremukh National Park region.
The winning report, titled 'Will government policy bring light to the lives of tribals?', was published in Vartha Bharathi on February 7, 2025.
The award is presented by the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists' Association to encourage young journalists reporting on rural community issues.
