Chingrighata Deadlock: Officials Seek More Time
There's a big discussion happening about some important work at a busy crossing in Kolkata called Chingrighata.
The work is for a new Metro line, and it needs a traffic block for three nights.
But different people in charge of traffic and the city are having trouble agreeing on how to manage the traffic during this time.
So, the state government asked for more time to talk about it.
They had a meeting with the Metro people and other officials, but they couldn't agree.
So, they're going to have another meeting soon to try and sort it out.
The work is to put big concrete blocks to fill a gap in the Metro line.
The police even did a practice run to see how the traffic would be affected, but they didn't confirm the final plan with the Metro officials.
State government seeks more time to decide on traffic block for Metro work at Chingrighata crossing.
Meeting held with Metro railway and RVNL representatives, but no consensus reached on traffic management.
Second meeting likely to be held later in the week to resolve the impasse.
