Hindustan Zinc to Raise Rs 1,400 Crore via NCDs
Hindustan Zinc, a big mining company, wants to borrow Rs 1,400 crore by selling special loans called NCDs.
They will sell these loans in two parts: Rs 980 crore and Rs 450 crore.
The money will be used to build a new plant that recycles leftover materials from their zinc mines.
These leftovers, called tailings, often have small amounts of valuable metals.
The company has also given contracts to two other companies, Sedgman and Leighton Asia, to help build this new plant.
The loans will be listed on the BSE, which is like a big market where people can buy and sell these loans.
Hindustan Zinc plans to raise Rs 1,400 crore via NCDs in two tranches of Rs 980 crore and Rs 450 crore.
The NCDs will be listed on the BSE and are unsecured, redeemable, and non-convertible.
The company has awarded contracts to Sedgman and Leighton Asia for developing a zinc tailings recycling facility at Rampura Agucha Mines in Rajasthan.
Tailings are finely ground remnants left after mineral extraction and often contain residual valuable metals.
The project aims to recycle these tailings, which were traditionally classified as waste.
