Trump Says US Secures Permanent Military Rights in Greenland Deal

Trump Says US Secures Permanent Military Rights in Greenland Deal

The United States, Denmark and Greenland made a new agreement, according to President Trump.

The agreement would let the United States expand its military presence in Greenland.

Trump said the United States would have these rights permanently.

He also said countries considered US adversaries could not build bases or station military forces there without permission.

Sensitive investments by those countries would also require US approval.

Greenland would not be acquired by the United States under this deal.

Trump said the agreement is meant to help protect Greenland and the United States.

The reports do not provide responses from Denmark or Greenland about the agreement.
