Indian Market Rallies on IT, Bank Stocks, GDP Growth
Indian stock markets started the week strong, with IT and public sector bank stocks leading the gains.
This was boosted by a US court's decision on tariffs and India's better-than-expected economic growth.
The Sensex and Nifty 50 rose, with IT being the best-performing sector.
Positive sentiment was further supported by strong GDP figures and the anticipation of GST reforms.
Foreign investors, however, withdrew a large amount of money in August.
While US and Asian markets showed mixed performance.
Indian benchmark indices opened higher on Monday.
Sensex rose 0.42% and Nifty 50 gained 0.43%.
Nifty IT was the top-performing sector, rising 1.59%.
India's Q1 GDP growth was reported at 7.8%.
Foreign investors withdrew Rs 34,993 crore in August.
