Train Services Halted in Assam After Track Damage
Imagine some construction workers were fixing a road, but they did it in a way that made the ground and rocks fall onto the train tracks.
This has caused the trains to stop running on a very important railway section.
Several trains have been canceled or delayed because of the damage.
Now, the railway is trying to clean up the tracks and has asked the road builders to fix the road properly so the trains can run safely again.
Train services in the Lumding-Badarpur hill section have been suspended due to track damage.
The damage was caused by 'improper' road repair work by NHAI.
The NFR bulletin stated the damage included boulders and land falling on the tracks.
Several trains have been cancelled, short-terminated, or rescheduled because of the damage.
NFR has asked NHAI to undertake proper protection work to prevent further damage.
