India Wins IIAS Presidency, First Time in Nearly a Century
India has achieved a significant win!
V Srinivas, from India, was chosen to be the head of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS).
This is a big deal because it's the first time in almost 100 years that India will lead this group, which focuses on making governments better around the world.
Srinivas won with lots of votes, showing how much other countries think India is doing a good job.
India has also been working on making its own government better, and this win shows that other countries are noticing.
This is a chance for India to share its ideas and help make governments better everywhere.
V Srinivas of India was elected President of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS).
India will hold the IIAS presidency for the 2025-2028 term.
Srinivas won with 87 votes, surpassing Austria's candidate.
India hosted the IIAS-DARPG India Conference in New Delhi earlier this year.
The victory aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance philosophy.
