September 1969: Moon Landing Celebrations and Space Mission Prep

In September 1969, everyone was excited!

Astronauts who went to the Moon were celebrated all over America.

They had parades, showed off Moon rocks, and even went on a world tour.

While the Apollo 11 crew was being honored, the Apollo 12 crew was getting ready to go to the Moon in November.

They planned to do more science than the first trip.

Meanwhile, a new cartoon called Scooby-Doo premiered on TV, and John Lennon from The Beatles said he was leaving the band.

It was a month of big events, especially the Moon landing.
