Telangana Schools, Colleges Close September 25 for Ganesh Immersion
The Telangana government has announced a holiday on September 25 in some areas.
Schools, colleges and government offices in those areas will be closed.
The closure is connected to a large Ganesh idol immersion procession.
The affected areas include Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri.
The government wants the procession to move smoothly and traffic to be easier to manage.
Schools and colleges will make up the missed working day on November 14, 2026.
Police have increased security in Hyderabad for the procession.
Some shops and bars will also close temporarily in the Future City police area.

Wine shops, toddy shops and restaurant-attached bars under the Future City Police Commissionerate will close from 6 a.m. September 25 to 6 a.m. September 26.
