China to Commission Advanced Fujian Aircraft Carrier This Year
China is about to get a new, very advanced aircraft carrier called the Fujian!
Think of it like a giant floating airport with special systems to launch planes.
The Fujian has been tested at sea for almost three years and is expected to join China's navy soon.
China already has two aircraft carriers and wants even more to help them protect their interests and have more global influence.
This new carrier uses a special system to launch planes, making it very advanced.
China's third aircraft carrier, the Fujian, is set to be commissioned this year.
The Fujian has completed nearly three years of sea trials and features an EMALS.
China currently operates two aircraft carriers, the Liaoning and Shandong.
Fujian joined the Shandong in exercises north of the Philippines this month.
