DMK MLAs Reject Government Cars Amid Tamil Nadu Fiscal Concerns

Tamil Nadu’s government planned to give every MLA a government car.

The plan also included monthly money for fuel, maintenance, and an assistant.

Udhayanidhi Stalin said all 59 DMK MLAs would refuse the cars.

He said the state should save money because it has financial difficulties.

He suggested giving cars only to MLAs who truly need them.

Minister Aadhav Arjuna said some legislators do not own cars.

He argued that MLAs need vehicles to travel around their constituencies and meet people.

The Assembly then debated whether cars are a luxury or a necessary work facility.
