Five Dead in Nampally Fire
A big fire started at a furniture shop in Nampally, Hyderabad, on Saturday.
The shop is on the ground floor of a four-storey building.
Firefighters and police worked hard to rescue people trapped inside, including workers who were living in the basement.
Unfortunately, five people died, and their bodies were recovered on Sunday.
The fire was very bad because the basement was full of things that catch fire easily.
The government said the shop owner broke the rules and will be punished.
They also asked people to report any buildings that don't follow fire safety rules to prevent such accidents in the future.
A major fire broke out at Batcha Crystal Furniture Shop in Nampally, Hyderabad, on Saturday evening.
Five bodies were recovered from the building's basement, where workers were provided accommodation.
Rescue and firefighting operations were delayed due to highly flammable materials stored in the basement.
Telangana authorities termed the incident a 'clear case of criminal negligence' and will file criminal cases against the shop owner.
Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar urged the public to report buildings that do not comply with fire safety regulations.
