AMC Networks Cuts 5% of Global Workforce Through Voluntary Buyouts

AMC Networks, which owns channels like AMC and BBC America, is letting about 5% of its employees go.

They are doing this by offering people a special package to voluntarily leave their jobs.

The company is changing from a traditional TV business to one that focuses more on online streaming services like AMC+.

CEO Kristin Dolan said this move is to make sure they have the right team for the future.

This is happening at a time when many other media and tech companies, like Paramount and Amazon, are also cutting jobs for various reasons, including new technology like AI.

AMC Networks has about 1,800 employees worldwide and over 10 million people subscribe to their streaming services.
