Public Sector Bank Services Face Disruption During September 11 Strike

Bank employees’ unions plan to stop working on September 11.

They want banks to operate for five days a week instead of six.

They are also asking for better pension updates and other changes.

This could make cash withdrawals, deposits and other bank services harder to access.

The disruption may last four days in some places because of the weekend and holidays.

State Bank of India warned customers that work could be affected.

The unions say the government and bank management have not made a commitment on five-day banking.

They may hold another three-day strike starting September 28.
