Alleged Union Occupies Bhopal Civic Property, BMC Plans Eviction

A building owned by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation was reportedly taken over by an employees’ group.

The group allegedly broke the locks and put on new ones.

It then set up an office inside the building.

The building had been locked after Water Works staff moved elsewhere.

Registered municipal unions complained to city officials.

Officials ordered that the building be emptied.

Two notices were sent, but the group has not replied.

BMC is preparing to remove the group’s belongings.

People are also concerned about many vehicles parked outside the building.

Other unions want only registered unions to be allowed to work inside the civic body.
