Sir Ratan Tata Trust Plans Fresh Appeal Amid Succession Delay

Sir Ratan Tata Trust Plans Fresh Appeal Amid Succession Delay

The Sir Ratan Tata Trust is currently not allowed to hold board meetings.

This happened because someone complained that too many of its trustees hold their positions for life.

The Maharashtra Charity Commissioner is investigating the complaint.

The trust now may ask for permission to meet while the investigation continues.

It says meetings are needed to approve grants and other important work.

The issue has become more urgent because Tata Sons needs to begin choosing a new chairman.

N Chandrasekaran has said he will not seek another term after February 20, 2027.

The trust’s inability to meet is making it harder to form the committee that will choose his successor.
