West Bengal Launches First Private Veterinary College to Address Professional Shortage

West Bengal Launches First Private Veterinary College to Address Professional Shortage

A new school for training animal doctors, called veterinarians, has opened in West Bengal.

It's the first private one in the area and is located in a place called Mogra in Hooghly.

This school is important because there aren't enough veterinarians in India right now, and more will be needed in the future.

The school can take 80 students each year for a program that lasts over five years, including a year of practice.

To get in, students need to do well on a big test called NEET and also have good grades in science and English from their previous studies.

The school is approved by important veterinary organizations and is linked to a university.

This helps make sure that more animals will get the care they need.
