Brookfield Launches $600M Lumara Renewable Platform in India
Brookfield, a big investment company, has started a new project in India called Lumara.
It will spend $600 million to build solar farms, wind farms, and battery storage.
These projects often get stuck waiting for contracts, power lines, or land.
Lumara will help them start building before all the paperwork is finished and give them money to speed things up.
The first projects will add more than 6 gigawatts of clean power, which is a lot of electricity for big factories and data centers.
This helps India reach its goal of having 500 gigawatts of clean energy by 2030.
Brookfield launches Lumara, a $600 million renewable energy platform in India.
Lumara targets solar, wind, and battery storage projects facing PPA, grid, and land acquisition delays.
The platform accelerates construction by allowing projects to start before securing PPAs and offers credit solutions.
Lumara’s initial portfolio exceeds 6 GW of capacity and supplies flexible power to large consumers and government buyers.
The investment is made through Brookfield’s Catalytic Transition Fund, part of its broader $32 billion presence in India.
