AI Tools Revolutionize Smallholder Farmers' Agriculture
Digital Green India is using AI tools like FarmerChat to help small farmers.
FarmerChat is a chatbot that gives farmers advice on farming, weather, and markets.
It helps farmers make better decisions, like when to use fertilizers or how to deal with pests.
The tool is especially useful for women and people who can't read much.
Digital Green also works with governments and other organizations to make sure the tool is useful and reaches as many farmers as possible.
They are always improving the tool to make it faster and more helpful.
The goal is to make farming easier and more sustainable for small farmers in India.
Digital Green India uses AI-powered tools like FarmerChat to provide real-time, locally relevant guidance to smallholder farmers.
FarmerChat has reached over 350,000 farmers, handling over 3 million queries, with 35% of users being women.
The tool helps farmers make better decisions on pest management, fertilizer use, and weather-related risks, with 60% of active users taking action based on its advice.
Digital Green integrates climate-smart and sustainable farming practices into its programs, promoting soil health, efficient water use, and bio-inputs.
Partnerships with governments, NGOs, and private players enhance the technology offerings and scale the impact of FarmerChat.
