Doctor Explains Why Exercising With A Fever Is Not Recommended

Your body uses a fever to fight germs that make you sick.

When you have a fever, your body needs lots of energy to get better.

Exercise also uses energy, so doing both at the same time can be too much.

Doctors have a special rule called the 'neck rule.'

If your symptoms are only above the neck, like a runny nose, light movement might be okay.

But if you have a fever, body aches, or chills, you should rest instead.

Exercising with a fever can make you even hotter and can make you lose too much water.

That can make you feel dizzy and weak.

You should wait until you have been without a fever for one whole day before exercising again.

It is better to rest and get better than to push yourself too hard.
