U.S. Oil and Gas Rigs Unchanged, Despite Price Forecasts
Imagine companies use special machines called rigs to drill for oil and gas.
This week, the number of these rigs stayed the same.
This report comes from Baker Hughes.
Even though the prices of oil and gas might go down in the future, the amount of oil the U.S. makes is still expected to go up.
Oil rigs went down a little, but gas rigs went up slightly.
Last year, there were more rigs, but companies are now focusing on paying back money instead of making more oil and gas.
U.S. oil and gas rigs remained unchanged for the week.
The total rig count stayed at 549.
Oil rigs decreased by two, while gas rigs increased by one.
The rig count is down 6.2% compared to the same time last year.
Despite price forecasts, U.S. oil production is projected to rise in 2025.
