Kerala Schools Grant Holiday for FIFA World Cup Final
Some schools in Kerala, India, have decided to give their students a holiday on Monday, July 20, 2026.
This is because the FIFA World Cup final will be played very late on Sunday night, and the schools want their students to be able to watch the game and rest the next day.
One school, Global Public School, made this announcement in a fun way.
They had a penalty shootout challenge during a school assembly.
If the students scored three goals out of six attempts, they would get a holiday.
The students did it, and the principal kept his promise and gave them Monday off.
Another school, St. Thomas Public School, also announced a holiday for the same reason.
However, schools in Mumbai have not made any such announcements, and they will operate as usual on Monday.
