BMC Revives Golf Course Plan Amid Lease Pause

BMC Revives Golf Course Plan Amid Lease Pause

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is looking to build a nine‑hole golf course on a former landfill in Mulund, a suburb of Mumbai.

They want to lease 15 acres of the 64‑acre site to a company linked to the Adani Group for five years to build a concrete plant for a big housing project in Dharavi.

The rest of the land could become a golf course and later a green zone.

The BMC hopes to earn about 103 crore rupees from the lease, but a committee raised environmental worries and put the lease on hold.

The landfill has been closed and most of its waste removed, so the land is ready for new uses.
