Delhi Police say they arrested three people in Ahmedabad over an alleged online fraud operation.

The case began when Vikas Kumar reported losing Rs 6,57,715.

He allegedly received a text message containing a harmful link.

Police said the link encouraged victims to install a malicious phone application.

The application could allegedly access mobile phones and banking information.

Investigators traced about Rs 4 lakh through two transactions involving credit cards linked to the accused.

They also recovered 11 credit cards and three mobile phones.

Police said the group communicated with other handlers through WhatsApp and Telegram, and that some numbers were linked to the United States.

The investigation is continuing to identify other alleged handlers and understand the wider network.
