India Boosts Fertiliser Security with Record Production
India has made a big achievement in making its own fertilisers.
In 2025, the country produced 73% of the fertilisers it needs, which is a lot more than before.
The government has been working hard to make sure farmers get the fertilisers they need.
They have set up new factories and made sure there are enough raw materials.
This helps farmers and makes India less dependent on other countries for fertilisers.
The government's plan is to keep making sure farmers have what they need to grow crops.
India met 73% of its fertiliser needs through domestic production in 2025.
Domestic fertiliser production increased from 433.29 lakh tonnes in 2021 to 524.62 lakh tonnes in 2025.
The government focused on long-term supply agreements and strategic diversification to ensure fertiliser security.
New fertiliser plants were established, and previously closed units were revived.
The government aims to support farmers and ensure a reliable supply of fertilisers.
