Mercedes-Benz, Maharashtra Team Up for Zero-Fatality Expressway
Imagine a super-fast highway called Samruddhi Mahamarg, and the goal is to make it super safe!
The government of Maharashtra is working with Mercedes-Benz and a group called SaveLIFE Foundation to make this happen.
They're using different strategies, like fixing the road, making sure drivers follow the rules, providing quick help after accidents, and teaching everyone about safe driving.
They've already seen good results: fewer people are dying in accidents.
The project focuses on dangerous spots, adds speed cameras and signs, and trains people to help after accidents.
They're also running ads online to teach drivers how to be safe.
The hope is that by 2026, no one will die on this highway.
Maharashtra and Mercedes-Benz India are collaborating on a road safety project.
The project is called "Zero Fatality Corridor" and focuses on the Samruddhi Mahamarg.
It aims to reduce deaths through engineering, enforcement, emergency care, and education.
Fatalities have dropped by 29% since the project's implementation.
The project includes safety upgrades, training, and public awareness campaigns.
