Sukhjit Biocorn Plans ₹760 Crore Nashik Agro-Processing Plant

Sukhjit Biocorn wants to build a large food-processing factory in Yeola, in Nashik district.

The factory would use maize to make starch and other products.

It could process 1,200 metric tonnes of maize every day.

The project may cost about ₹760 crore.

The company says it will need land, water, electricity and roads from the Maharashtra government.

Farmers in Nashik and nearby areas could gain a steady buyer for their maize.

The project is expected to create about 1,000 direct jobs and as many as 3,000 indirect jobs.

The company plans to finish the plant in 12 to 15 months.
