Meghalaya's First Eklavya School Opens
Meghalaya's first Eklavya Model Residential School opened in Pahamsyiem.
The Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, thanked the central government for supporting this school, which aims to give good education to tribal children.
He told the students to value this chance and work hard.
The school is for students who were chosen from many applicants.
The Chief Minister also started a project for a new sports track and some vehicles to help people in rural areas.
He said Meghalaya is growing fast and developing for everyone.
The Education Minister also spoke, saying teachers should help students do well.
Meghalaya's first Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) was inaugurated in Pahamsyiem, Ri-Bhoi district.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma expressed gratitude to the Centre and Ministry of Tribal Affairs for supporting the school.
Nearly 2,000 students applied, and only a select few were chosen to attend the school.
Sangma laid the foundation stone for a Synthetic Athletic Track and flagged off four vehicles for rural transport.
Meghalaya is currently the second fastest-growing economy in the country, with a 10% annual GDP growth over the past three years.
