MP Cabinet Rejects Prosecution Request Against Minister Vijay Shah

MP Cabinet Rejects Prosecution Request Against Minister Vijay Shah

A minister in Madhya Pradesh made comments about Colonel Sofiya Qureshi during Operation Sindoor.

He was reported to have called her the sister of terrorists.

The comments caused criticism across India.

The High Court ordered that a police case be registered against him.

The Supreme Court of India then created a special investigation team, or SIT, to examine the matter.

The SIT recommended that the government allow the minister to be prosecuted.

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet rejected that request.

The decision will now go to the governor, and the state will tell the Supreme Court of India what happened.
