Odisha: Prohibitory Orders in Khurda Villages After Boundary Dispute Clash
Imagine two neighborhoods that don't agree on where their property line is.
They had a big argument that turned into a fight, and some small shops were even set on fire.
Because of the fight, the grown-ups in charge decided that people from both neighborhoods can't gather in public places or open their shops for a while.
This is to help everyone calm down and stop any more fighting.
The police are watching the area to make sure everyone follows the rules.
This isn't the first time these neighborhoods have argued about their border.
Prohibitory orders have been imposed in two villages in Odisha's Khurda district following a violent clash over a boundary dispute.
The clash occurred between residents of Ostapur and Kotapalla villages on Wednesday night after an argument over a signboard marking their boundary.
Three to four roadside shops were gutted, and several people sustained injuries during the violence.
The district administration imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, restricting public assembly and shop openings.
Approximately 30 police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order in the affected area.
