Odisha Targets $500 Billion Economy Through Diversified Industrial Growth

Odisha wants its economy to be worth $500 billion by 2036.

It has approved hundreds of projects and is working to turn investment plans into operating businesses and jobs.

The state wants to grow new industries such as data centres, semiconductors, artificial intelligence and green energy.

Mining and metals will still matter, but Odisha also wants more products to be made from its resources inside the state.

It is also promoting industries that can employ many people, including textiles, food processing and tourism.

Officials say projects should bring opportunities to local communities and spread growth across districts.

They also say industries must follow environmental rules and rehabilitation requirements.
