India Digitizes Land Records: 99.79% Completed, Says Minister
India is making it easier to keep track of land records!
Almost all of the existing land records have been converted into digital form.
This is part of a plan called DILRMP.
The digital records are helping with things like crop surveys, making sure farmers get the right help.
The government is also linking these records to the courts to solve land disputes quicker.
They are using special software that translates the land records into different languages, so everyone can understand them.
They're even using maps to pinpoint where each piece of land is, which helps in knowing what crops are planted where.
All of this makes things more transparent and efficient.
India has digitized 99.79% of existing land records.
Digitization supports agricultural initiatives like crop surveys.
eCourts are being linked with land records to speed up case disposal.
Transliteration software helps overcome linguistic barriers in land governance.
Georeferenced maps are used in initiatives such as the Digital Crop Survey.
