Mathura Village Board Renamed to ‘Raghuwarpur’ from ‘Akbarpur’
In Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, some people changed the name on a village sign from ‘Akbarpur’ to ‘Raghuwarpur’.
This happened after a religious leader, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, suggested the name change during a speech.
The police are investigating who did this and plan to fix the sign back to its original name.
They also said the religious leader did not ask people to change the name themselves, but someone did it anyway.
Unidentified persons defaced a village name board on the Delhi-Agra national highway in Mathura district.
The name ‘Akbarpur’ was replaced with ‘Raghuwarpur’ on the signboard.
The incident is linked to a remark made by Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, who suggested renaming the village.
Police clarified that Shastri’s comment was addressed to the government, not a call to action for individuals.
An investigation has been initiated, and steps are being taken to restore the signboard to its original form.
