ED court remands former minister in alleged Andhra liquor scam

The Enforcement Directorate is investigating an alleged liquor transportation scam in Andhra Pradesh.

Former minister Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao was arrested on Sunday.

A court then sent him to jail for 14 days while the investigation continues.

Three other people have already been arrested in the case.

Investigators suspect a company called Sigma Supply Chain Solutions was used in liquor tender-related activities.

They are also examining possible hawala transactions.

Nageswara Rao says he did not receive money from the alleged transactions.

He also denies knowing about Sudarshan Construction and says the truth will be decided in court.
