French Union Condemns EDF Chief Over Far-Right Meetings

French Union Condemns EDF Chief Over Far-Right Meetings

EDF is a major French company that runs nuclear power facilities.

Its chief, Bernard Fontana, met with Marine Le Pen and Sarah Knafo, who are associated with the far-right National Rally party.

The CGT union criticized the meeting.

It said meeting far-right politicians publicly sends a political message.

EDF disagreed and said it talks with people from all political parties.

The company said it would meet any presidential candidate who wanted to discuss issues.

Le Pen is currently ahead in opinion polls for the next election.

The argument happened as French companies are paying more attention to the National Rally’s growing political strength.
