Argentina's National Football Teams Day marks World Cup semifinal win

Argentina's National Football Teams Day marks World Cup semifinal win

Argentina's football association has named a special day, National Football Teams Day, to celebrate a very exciting win in the World Cup.

The World Cup is the biggest football tournament in the world, and this was the semi-final match against England.

Argentina was losing the game, but in the last few minutes they scored two quick goals and won 2 to 1.

Fans were so happy that they flooded the streets to celebrate their team's comeback.

But the celebration upset some people, because Argentina and the United Kingdom have argued for a long time about some islands.

The islands are called the Falklands in English and the Malvinas in Spanish, and Argentina's players held up a sign saying the islands belong to Argentina.

The British government asked FIFA, the group that runs world football, to look into what happened.

Argentina went on to play in the World Cup final but lost 0 to 1 against Spain.

England finished in third place by beating France 6 to 4.

FIFA also opened disciplinary proceedings against some Argentine players over their behaviour after the final.
