OneTag Enables FASTag Bank Switching Without Replacing Sticker
FASTag lets vehicles pay tolls electronically in India.
Before OneTag, changing the bank connected to a FASTag usually meant getting a new sticker.
OneTag lets eligible users keep the sticker already fixed to their vehicle.
They can choose another issuer bank using the RajmargYatra app.
The Tag ID and vehicle registration number stay the same after the transfer.
The old bank handles refunds, settlements and pending transactions.
Users may need OTPs and should not have negative balances or unpaid dues.
Tags that are blocked, blacklisted or damaged may not qualify and may need to be replaced.
OneTag lets FASTag users switch issuer banks without obtaining a new physical tag.
The portability service was launched by Nitin Gadkari at the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai on September 11.
Users retain the existing FASTag, Tag ID and vehicle registration number after successful portability.
The process is available through the RajmargYatra app, which handles eligibility checks, verification, consent and bank selection.
The old bank manages refunds and pending transactions, while blocked, blacklisted or damaged tags may be rejected.
