CPM Rally Ends, Highlights Bengal's Issues
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) recently finished a big 19-day journey called the Bangla Bacho Yatra, which covered over 1,000 kilometers across Bengal.
During this journey, CPM leaders talked to many people and found out that a lot of young people and those who are not very rich are having a hard time because of problems like corruption and not enough jobs.
They also found out that many families are in debt because of easy loans from microfinance companies, and many students are leaving school to work in other places.
The CPM leaders said that people are aware of these problems but are not speaking up, so they want to give them the courage to voice their concerns.
The journey ended with a big rally in Belgharia, and the CPM leaders said they will continue to fight for these issues.
CPM's 19-day Bangla Bacho Yatra covered over 1,000km across Bengal, ending in a rally in Belgharia.
Leaders highlighted issues like corruption, misgovernance, and economic struggles faced by Bengal's populace, especially youths and economically weaker sections.
Microfinance schemes were criticized for pushing families into debt traps, with over one crore people allegedly affected.
Educational decline in districts like Murshidabad, Malda, and North Dinajpur was noted, with only about 34% of students going to college.
CPM believes the outreach will help regain relevance in the 2026 polls, despite concerns about urban, educated middle class leaning towards the BJP.
