Trump Reiterates Suggestion: Canada Should Join the US
Former US President Donald Trump suggested again that Canada should become the 51st state.
He first mentioned this in late 2024, and he keeps bringing it up.
His latest comment was made in a speech to the military, mentioning Canada's interest in joining the US missile defense.
Initially, the then Canadian Prime Minister rejected the idea, and the current Prime Minister, Mark Carney, is also against it.
Canadian citizens also appear not to support this prospect.
Donald Trump revived his idea of Canada becoming the 51st US state.
He first suggested this in December 2024.
Trump stated recent Canadian leaders expressed interest in the US missile defense shield.
He proposed they join the US to get it for free.
