US Stocks Mixed: Tech Earnings Drive Market Fluctuations
Imagine the stock market as a playground where companies are like different games.
On Thursday, some games like the S&P 500 and Nasdaq went up, while the Dow Jones went down.
This was because some big companies, like Alphabet (the owner of Google), did well and their game became popular.
Other companies, like Tesla, didn't do as well and their game was less popular.
So, some games did better, and some did worse, making the whole playground a bit mixed up!
US stock indices showed mixed performance on Thursday.
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq rose at the open, while the Dow Jones declined.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 0.52%.
Alphabet stock increased by 3.1% after reporting solid profits.
Tesla's stock price tumbled after its earnings report.
