Maharashtra Launches Purohit Training Course for Kumbh Mela 2027
The Maharashtra government has started a special 21-day course to train people to help with religious rituals.
This is because a big event called the Kumbh Mela is coming in 2027, and many people will visit.
The course teaches about Hindu rituals, mantras, and how to set up ceremonies.
Anyone between 12 and 45 years old can join, no matter their community.
After finishing, they get a certificate.
However, some traditional priests are upset.
They say only those who have gone through special religious ceremonies can learn the Vedas and perform rituals.
They also say it takes many years to learn these things, not just 21 days.
Maharashtra government launched a 21-day Purohit-Kanishtha Sahayak Purohit course for the Simhashta Kumbh Mela 2027.
The course is open to all communities and teaches Vedic rituals, mantra chanting, and Hindu rites.
Participants aged 12-45 will receive a certificate based on performance and attendance.
Some traditional purohits oppose the course, claiming Upnayana Sanskar and wearing the sacred thread are necessary.
A 10-day Kumbh-related training course will be conducted later.
