2025 DSC Teachers Stage Self-Respect Rally in Vijayawada
Some teachers in India passed a big test to get their jobs.
They held a big walk to show they are proud of what they did.
They say they got their jobs fairly by studying hard and passing the test.
Some other people said mean things about how they got their jobs.
The teachers think that is unfair and wanted to speak up.
About 7,000 teachers joined the walk in the city of Vijayawada.
They carried signs and shouted slogans as they walked.
They walked from a stadium to a statue of a famous leader.
They also talked about a former leader who became chief minister.
They said if people felt sorry for him, that is also not a fair way to get a big job.
The teachers want everyone to know they earned their jobs through hard work.
Nearly 7,000 teachers selected through the 2025 District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment took part in the rally.
The rally began near the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium on Bandar Road and proceeded towards the Ambedkar statue at Swaraj Maidan.
Teachers rejected the 'Mega DSC – Daga DSC' description, asserting their appointments were secured through merit after passing the DSC examination.
They accused YSRC leaders of running a 'malicious campaign' against their appointments.
Teachers questioned whether former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's rise to power after his father's death was also a form of compassionate appointment.

Nature of recruitment
DSC-2025 Teachers
Appointments were secured through merit after preparing for and passing the DSC examination, not through sympathy or compassionate recruitment.
YSRC Leaders
Per the teachers' account, YSRC leaders portrayed the recruitment in a derogatory manner, including describing it as 'Mega DSC – Daga DSC'.
Compassionate appointment comparison
DSC-2025 Teachers
If sympathy following his father's death helped YS Jagan Mohan Reddy become chief minister, that too was a form of compassionate appointment.
