Lucknow Metro GoSmart Card holders can switch to NCMC free
The Lucknow Metro is a train system in the city of Lucknow.
People who ride it use special cards to pay for their trips.
One kind of card is called the GoSmart Card.
The metro company wants everyone to use a new card called the NCMC.
The NCMC is like a magic card that works on many different types of transport.
It can be used on metros, buses, and even in some shops.
For the next 30 days, people can swap their old GoSmart Card for the new NCMC card for free.
They should use up all the money on their old card first.
After that, they can hand it in at any metro station.
The new card gives a 10% discount on every metro ride.
UPMRC has opened a 30-day special exchange window for Lucknow Metro GoSmart Card holders to switch to the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) free of cost.
The exchange facility is available at all Lucknow Metro stations.
Passengers are advised to exhaust the balance on their existing GoSmart Cards before surrendering them.
The NCMC, known as 'One Nation One Card', is an interoperable mobility card usable across participating metros, buses, parking facilities and retail outlets.
Outside the exchange window, NCMC issuance costs Rs 100 (non-refundable), with a minimum top-up of Rs 100 and a maximum of Rs 2,000; NCMC users get a 10% discount on every Lucknow Metro journey.
