Allahabad HC Questions UP Government's Denial of Teacher Contract Renewal
Allahabad HC questions UP govt over denial of contract renewal to teacher after 16 years · theprint.in

A teacher named Archana Boodh worked at a girls' school in India for 16 years without ever becoming a permanent employee.

Her job was renewed again and again, but this time the government did not renew her contract.

She went to a big court to ask for help.

The court said teachers are like 'builders of the nation' and should not be left without work.

The court asked the government to explain why her contract was stopped.

It also said she can keep working until the next court meeting.

The teacher is about 39 years old and worried she may be too old to apply for new teaching jobs.

The court wants to think about many other teachers who have worked for over 15 years on contracts.

The next hearing will happen on September 8.
