Amaravati Approves Transport Plan, Assembly Spire and Infrastructure Proposals
Amaravati is being planned as a large capital city in Andhra Pradesh.
Officials will design a transport system connecting it with Vijayawada, Guntur and nearby places.
A tall 250-metre spire will be added to the new assembly building.
The spire and lifts are expected to cost about Rs 661 crore.
The government also plans infrastructure work in 29 villages.
Some farmers will receive annuity payments under the land-pooling program.
Officials were told to protect nature and make half of Amaravati green.
The city will also be promoted around technology, clean energy and sustainability.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to prepare a mass transportation plan linking Amaravati with Vijayawada, Guntur and nearby areas.
The Capital Region Development Authority approved a 250-metre spire tower and lifts for the new assembly building at an estimated cost of Rs 661 crore.
Tenders worth Rs 1,548 crore will be invited for infrastructure development across 29 capital villages in land-pooling zones.
The meeting approved annuity payments for farmers with less than one acre in the second phase of land pooling, along with land allotments for hotels and schools.
Naidu directed officials to pursue sustainable development, green cover, publicity, revenue planning and a future mega-city encompassing nearby urban areas.
