Delhi Airport Reopens Third Runway After Major Rehabilitation

Delhi Airport has opened a runway that was closed for major repairs.

The runway is called 11R/29L, or the third runway.

Workers resurfaced it and strengthened its pavement.

They also added better lights and a faster exit path for landing airplanes.

These changes can help airplanes leave the runway more quickly.

That may allow more flights to move through the airport smoothly.

Flyers could see fewer waits on taxiways, especially during busy periods or poor visibility.

However, the new runway cannot guarantee that every flight will be on time.

Nothing changes inside the airport’s three terminals.
